When salads, sandwiches, sushi, pasta and other cold foods are packed in robust, well-designed food packaging, they are protected from damage and contaminants, and stay fresher for longer, which means they’re safe to consume, reach the customer in top condition, and food waste is minimised.
For catering, we work primarily with 100% RPET and our clear PET containers are 100% recyclable within New Zealand. Although we can produce black RPET, this requires the addition of virgin resin, so we always recommend clear as the best option environmentally.
But also from the perspective of product visibility, as clear packaging enables customers to see what they’re buying rather than using their imagination. This makes tempting the taste buds easier and ensures the purchaser knows exactly what they’re buying.
